We all have dating preferences, and that is perfectly normal and acceptable. You want the person you are romantically involved with to be compatible with you, and the only way to do that is if you know exactly what you are looking for in a partner, whether it is physically, mentally, or emotionally. 

But you might have a problem if you start being too specific about your dating preferences because then you might find yourself out of options really quickly. Even if the perfect person for you is out there, the chances of meeting them become more slim the more specific you get, and at the end of the day, we all have to remember that nobody is perfect.

The people in this AskReddit thread definitely need a wake-up call in this regard, because they are making it impossible to find the right person for themselves. From what type of pet their date has to them only using a specific brand of toothpaste, these are some of the weirdest dating preferences people have to share.
